Can anyone help

Hello,
I have connected my cross over cable "using Window XP) and set the IP address but under the heading "Obtain DNS server address automatically" it switches to "Use the folloing DNS server address" When I go to check for add hardware, it doesn't see the other computer. What am I doing wrong?

Hi there,

While using cross cable you need to set the ip manually to be able to communicate to the other client.If set 192.168.100.3 for one the other must be 192.168.100.4 or any other.
