Copying Video files from SD card onto DVD

Hello,
I have a samsung HD camera with SD card. Video are stored in MEG-4 format. When I copy the MPEG-4 files onto a flash dirve and insert the same into a USB slot of my DVD player i cannot view any files (Msg - No data on the TV).
Also can someone help me with transeferring those files onto DVD as well, to send it to my frined so that he can see the video on his DVD player without using Samsung camera.
