I can't see my icon on my desktop

Hello,
i can't see any of my icons on my desktop all i see is black, and when i go to safe mode to clean out my laptop it says it works and clean, but when i go back normal all i see is back and when its loading it shows a bluescreen with bunch of letters and numbers what do you think? my laptop is an Acer"Aspire" window vista

copy the error code shown on the blue screen, usually similar to 0*0000008f , ths will tell you what the error code is. if you have installed any recent hardware, when booting up press the f8 button and select the last known good configuration. hope this helps.
