Ethernet issue

Hello,
I just wiped my moms computer because it was acting up, and installed Windows XP Performance edition. It installs the bare necessities, and doesn't even come with an internet driver. Is there a quick way to get connected to the internet, so I can finish installing the rest of the drivers and apps?

it is an Acer, model M1610

at one point it was victim to a power surge, and had to be rebuilt. I would imagine it still has the same ethernet hardware.

Still, any help is much appreciated. Please help, thank you
