Hello,
I just installed a 1 TB WD external drive. Drive letter assigned as expected. For the heck of it, I checked "Properties" and found that the capacity is 644 MB. Spoke to the Geek Squad at Best Buy and the guy "thought" it's because I'm running Windows XP (Home). Thought perhaps XP just not able to "think that big." Sounds bogus. Any thoughts. Thanks.

Windows should show about 952 GB of space on a 1 TB hard drive. Windows XP shouldn't matter. You can download this program to get a better look at the partition(s) on your hard drive.

Good Luck
