You are one of the very few still using Netscape!
It is possible to make a visual examination of your System32, most viruses try to hide files in there. You can also look at the processes to see which ones don't belong. Now what files and what process is $34,000 question as there so many types of viruses.
You can Google and compare your systems behavior and symptoms with people who had similar problems.
Are you just curious, suspicious of scans...?
