Bluetooth not functioning.

hi! i have a bluetooth in my asus loptop. if i turn on the switch, the light turns on but if i try to send pictures from my celfon to loptop, cant find my loptop name, iv used my celfon's bluetooth many times before with other celfons and loptops... my friend seacrhed for me, he told me my bluetooth would only function with windows xp without any usb dongle, if thats true why is it imprinted in my loptop that my OS is vista basic? is there any hope that i can use my bluetooth without any usb dongle having an OS vista basic?... i need your help guys,,, mine is asus z53mseries, OS vista basic, wireless 802.11b/g, mbver:f3m, product key:77gd6 kk4hg 4x27d kxk7j m47g8...thank you so much...
