Flash Drive won't open

Help!! My flash drive will not open so I can retrieve my photos. When I go to My Computer and click on removeable disk, I get a window that says not formatted. If I format will I loose my photos.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

My pqi 8gb flash drive is not responding any more ,i can''t open it for me to read my files and documents ,this message comes up each time I try to open It ''THE DRIVE IS NOT FORMATTED ,DO YOU WANT TO FORMAT IT NOW?'' I don't want to format it because i will lose my files inside.Please help me

I understand, I would not want to format before I could a least recover the files.

I suggest that you plug in the drive but don't open it.

Download this free recovery tool and perform a full scan:

https://ccm.net/downloads/security-and-maintenance/5003-recuva/

If your files are recovered, copy to your harddisk.

The issue with your pendrive may happen again, I would scrap the one you have and purchase a brand new spanking one.
