I took the 256 out of my pc and put 2 new ones in computer did not work, so I took the 2 new ones out and put the old one back in and still does not work. What did I do wrong and what can I do? thanks

You might have damaged the motherboard when you changed the memory modules or you may not have fully inserted them into their sockets. I would try to reinstall the old modules - this time make sure you have them correct positioned and they SNAP into the socket.
