Word document file

When we open a word document, an additional "~$w Microsoft Office Word Document.docx" file also opened... It is about 1kb of size...Can you say what is this?

Dear Siana,

This is a temporary file that is opened and will disappear as soon as you have saved the file properly.

Thanks for your reply... I have one more doubt about this... Is this any indication of virus?

Hi there,

As soon as document is saved it disappears,its a temporary file.
