I have a toshiba satellite laptop that has Vista on it. My work software is not compatible with Vista and I need Xp. I have a recovery XP disk, but it is for my emachines desktop computer. Can I use this disk? I don't have downgrade rights for Vista because it is not the premium home version. What can I do???

Thanks so much for any advice!

Yes, I think its better you to formate your laptop and reinstall XP because I will not suggest you for the dual operating system on your laptop.

How do I do that. I originally installed with the emachine recovery XP disc on my toshiba and it loaded the operating system, but the modem and ports were all missing. Did I do something wrong? Will using the CD from a different brand computer hurt this one?
