Wirless router will not work on desktop

I just purchased a Belkin wireless router. My laptop is working great on it. However, my desktop computer is telling me that I am connected to the internet via the Belkin router but when I go to internet explore it tells me that ID cannot display the webpage b/c of the following not connected to the internet, website is encountering problems or might be a typing error in the address.
Please someone HELP me!!
