Hello,
some of my files were xls files were deleted automatically, i am using ms excel 2007. i tried to recover them but was unsuccessful and can only recover some files with same name but with changed extention as .xlsm.url

Can i recover them back with xls format. please help

Was the .xls file saved on your pc ?please explain how this occurred.

yes, it was and i regularly worked on it, but when i recently saw the files its icon was changed to ie shortcut and file name was shown .xlsm but in properties it was as .xlsm.url
