Can't run my Task Manager

Hello,
plz help.. i new in computer... w/ windows xp..

when i press ctrl.alt.del to open my task manager...
error appear like this.. " THE TASK MANAGER HAS BEEN DISABLED BY YOUR ADMINISTRATION"

I think that you've installed a free anti-virus to be more specific avast It happens with avast it eats up your system file till the time it remains there in the system uninstall the anti virus and format the PC but remember to back up your data first
