Songs from iphone to library?

How do I get the songs I purchased from itunes on my iphone into my itunes library on my computer?

I tried right clicking and hitting 'transfer purchases' and all that did was create a green playlist icon called 'Purchased on iphone' that sits under 'store'. I can't drag and drop songs into the library.

Argh stupid itunes, never does what I want it to do!!
