Hello,
I have a new HP 505 Touchsmart running Vista 64 bit. I cannot seem to download and install ITunes 8 from the Apple webpage. It says downloading, but then it sits at 0% for about 40 minuts, and then times out. Any ideas??
Thanks

If you have an older computer try downloading an older version of itunes from www.oldapps.com, I keep getting there is a problem with this windows installer package. a program required for this install to complete could not be run. and then itunes reverses the install. I have went back and downloaded a 7 itunes and it downloaded just fine. I really hate vista.

You have to go into explorer and clear all of your cookies, your temp. files, and your internet history. As soon as you do that, it'll load. I don't know why.

It looks as if itunes 7.6 will support an ipod touch, and it is Windows 2000 compatible. You can download it from freewareblog or some other site. This might help too:

I was stuck on downloading itunes too!! Driving me mad, but then I made sure pop ups were okay temporarily and pressed Ctrl whist clicking DOWNLOAD NOW and it worked. I think my security software was preventing it from downloading. Try it!!

Try turning off your virus program.

My case is different. I got Itunes and Quicktime to Install with no problem on my laptop but it will not install on my desktop. Bothe are running Vista Home Premium and have mostly the same programs. The only real difference is Laptop has Intel processor and Desktop has AMD processor. I had the same thing with Apple support. They could not help because my Ipod was out of warranty. There is nothing wrong with my Ipod. They were no help at all. Any Ideas? Thanks Note: This is an update to 8 inbothcases. Updates in the past have worked ok.

I recently restored my computer (with windows xp) back to it's factory settings. I have been trying to download itunes to my computer again, and everytime it cant even get past the file download. It gets to 77% and then nothing happens! The little sheet of paper moves from the globe to the folder still, but it just stays at 77%. What do I do?

I have been trying to download this thing for years, and it has yet to work for me I've tried almost everything here and it STILL will not work. I got a new Ipod too, but no such luck. What really makes me mad is that this computer had Itunes for a while, but when we moved it, Itunes disappeared!

If u try and download it and it says "You have insufficent privleges" make sure u are a computer administrater.
if not become one and re-download.

okay, well you know where you type in your email address and click the big blue download button? well scroll down, and theres a whole bunch of info about it in little print, keep scrolling down and there will be in blue letters (that you can click on) 64-bit edition, or something like that, click that and install that one.
hope I helped : )

i am trying to download skype in my iphone 16 GB but it is asking me to for my itunes id and password which I dont have. do I need to have itunes downloaded in my iphone to download skype?
-1
I have dowloaded skype onto my mac. I have the latest program, however it sees to have missed a vital step where I give it my email address, password etc. It just ask me for my login name and password as though I already have a name registered and of course it doesn't recognise either and won't let me get any further.
