If you have an older computer try downloading an older version of itunes from www.oldapps.com, I keep getting there is a problem with this windows installer package. a program required for this install to complete could not be run. and then itunes reverses the install. I have went back and downloaded a 7 itunes and it downloaded just fine. I really hate vista.
i have vista ultimate 64 as well I have no problem installing it. what you have to do is install itunes. then go to the apple.com website and get quicktime for I tunes ( its more of an addon for itunes)
You have to go into explorer and clear all of your cookies, your temp. files, and your internet history. As soon as you do that, it'll load. I don't know why.
It looks as if itunes 7.6 will support an ipod touch, and it is Windows 2000 compatible. You can download it from freewareblog or some other site. This might help too:

My case is different. I got Itunes and Quicktime to Install with no problem on my laptop but it will not install on my desktop. Bothe are running Vista Home Premium and have mostly the same programs. The only real difference is Laptop has Intel processor and Desktop has AMD processor. I had the same thing with Apple support. They could not help because my Ipod was out of warranty. There is nothing wrong with my Ipod. They were no help at all. Any Ideas? Thanks Note: This is an update to 8 inbothcases. Updates in the past have worked ok.
i had the same issue basically I went to control panel and repaired "Apple software update" went back to programs and clicked on it and updated it then it let me download itunes from apple software update.

okay, well you know where you type in your email address and click the big blue download button? well scroll down, and theres a whole bunch of info about it in little print, keep scrolling down and there will be in blue letters (that you can click on) 64-bit edition, or something like that, click that and install that one.

i am trying to download skype in my iphone 16 GB but it is asking me to for my itunes id and password which I dont have. do I need to have itunes downloaded in my iphone to download skype?
I have dowloaded skype onto my mac. I have the latest program, however it sees to have missed a vital step where I give it my email address, password etc. It just ask me for my login name and password as though I already have a name registered and of course it doesn't recognise either and won't let me get any further.
