XP diskdrive relabeled
Closed
Hello,
On Windows XP desktop machine, trying to fix another problem, I began changing some of my IDE drive configurations. My OS was on drive c (IDE Primary), programs on drive D (SATA) and extra data disk drive E (IDE slave). I have the jumpers on the disks set to CS (Cable Select). The problem is that now, the C and E drive now are cross labeled ... with C being the extra dat disk and E now being my OS disk. On the cable, I have the OS disk as master and the extra data disk as slave.
I want my my OS disk back to C and the data disk back to E.
HOW???

using "cable select" the end connector is the master ("C"). you will ned to re-cable the drives.
Good Luck

yes, I already have the end of the cable MAster with the diskdrive that I want as the C drive, but sees it as the E drive.

Strange. The nest thing is to change the hard drive jumpers to Master and Slave.
