If your notebook is older then a few months, then your heatsink and cooling fan are clogged with dust...Visit ur local pc shop for cleaning

did u try to put it into power saver mode?
and does the fan on the bottom work
mine is warm to touch on high performance
on powersaver its slightly warm

try opening it up and blasting the motherboard/heatsink with compressed air...i have heard of dust in the computer stopping cooling and leading to overheating before.
