Ehternet insalled is increased by number, but there is only one adapter

I installed the Realteck ethernet adapter . due slowness of inetrnet , i uninstall the ethernet card and restart the system, this time it found the ethernet as #1 where as already assingned Ip address is not accepted. the error is " you aleady assighned to someother adapter, ie hidden , once again uninstall the ethernet adopter and searching the new hardware wizard, then it is going to be considered as Ehternet #3 , and the second ehternet #2 was hidden. then again i am going to assighn new ip address for that adapter and make browsing. how can solve this problem ?
