HP dv5 1126nr monitor not working

Hello,

My son's notebook dv5 1126nr monitor is black. His backlights all are on with it flashing near the caps lock and numbers lock buttons. He can see nothing on the screen. When plugging into another monitor he still sees nothing.
He's tried taking the battery out and unplugging but nothing has happened.

Anyone have any suggestions?
