Hello,

This is a tough one and if somebody can figure it out I praise you. I have a simple spreadsheet but to calculate overtime is tough. A2 through to G2 has the hours the employee worked in a 7 day period. Then H2 is the total hours worked. I2 is the regular hours worked and J2 is the overtime hours. The overtime works like this overtime in our province is calculated on a daily and on a weekly basis. The higher the two for overtime hours is the overtime hours worked in a week. Basically which ever overtime is higher in the week (Overtime is anything over 8 hours a day or 44 hours a week)

Please help me!

Could you please upload a sample EXCEL file WITH sample data, macro, formula , conditional formatting etc on some shared site like https://authentification.site , http://docs.google.com, http://wikisend.com/ , http://www.editgrid.com etc
A N D post back here the link to allow better understanding of how it is now and how you foresee. Based on the sample book, could you re-explain your problem too

I would love to post it but the company would not allow it. So I copied and pasted a spreadsheet that reflects the same.
Day 1 Day 2 Day 3 Day 4 Day 5 Total Hours Reg Hours Overtime Hours
14 15 12 9 16 66 44 22
So this is what it basically looks like. All I need is a formula to calculate the overtime. The overtime is stated in the above comment. Anything over 44 hours a work week or anything over 8 hours a day. Which ever is higher in overtime that is the one it needs to choose. This is a tough one if anyone is up for challenge this is one!
Thanks,

I am confused. If I work for 5 days and work for 8 hours, thats like 40 hours. But you seem to say that though my regular work hours is 8 hours and any time over it is OT, but at the end of the week, I need to put 44 hours as reg hours and any thing above that would be OT
