Hello,

Inspiron 2200 dies randomly like power cord is pulled, It has week battery (which i think should not matter as I use it with mains adapter)
I have re set to factory re-set to no avail.
it has MS win xp home edition
and its not the adapter plug as i have re-soldered it
fan comes on as it should
computer run fine from 3/4 minutes to 5/6 hours.
it can run for any thing from 3/4 minutes to whole day fine or go off 3/4 times in 5 minutes

please help. any ideas what it can be

Hi Sultan,

Your battery is not good ,that means not holding charge that why when power cord is pulled its turned off,solution is to change battery or always work on power from adapter.

Thank you for your reply the problem is that it dies when the power cord is connected I have also checked the voltage on the power supply which are normal I have re-sodered the brick on the mother board all to no avail it just dies like the power is removed.
