Anti-virus not notifying threat

Hello,

I lend a friend my pen drive to use. When he put it in his pc, he noticed a virus. I do have a virus protection program but it did not notify me. Why is this so? Is there any problem with my anti-virus?

Hi,

Your antivirus might be out of date; you may update it via the internet. Which one are you using right now?
Or it may be that it is switched off, just switch it on!
