Hello Roger,
Newly purchased flashdrives or pendrives do not need formating and I wonder why you involve Nero into this.
If you are running Windows, you plug in your flash.
Go to Explorer and find the folder with your pics. Open it. Then, you click on a picture and keeping the button down, you slide it in the left pane, on to your Flasdrive icon. Your pic will automatically be recorded and saved.
How is that?
