Itunes store

Hello,
i have installed itunes on my daughters computer. she has windows 7. we have never been able to access itunes store. she has music on it, and is able to play the music.

every time i try to access the store, it says that i am unable to and that the network connection has timed out. i have deleted it and reinstalled it. i have downloaded the latest versions of itunes, and nothing seems to work.

she is about to inherit an iphone 3G and i wanted to get this problem fixed before she gets it so that she doesn't have trouble later on.

can anyone help me figure this problem out? much thanks.
