Hello maybe you should try to change the settings of your desktop:
right click on your desktop/select properties/desktop/ click on customize desktop button/ select the Web tab/ click on the New button/ add url (try something simple like google .com) or click on the visit gallery button.
Just try this small trick and see if it work.. in the other case it may be due to the fact that your GPU is not properly connected.
One last question, what web browser are you using actually..update yours if necessary.
