Hello,
I have used my WD external hard drive to back up using time machine. Does this mean I can now delete music/films/pictures/documents off my actual laptop and keep them on my external hard drive only? I don't know anything about this, but I am worried that if I delete files off my laptop, next time Time Machine backs-up, I will lose previous data?
Please help I feel so confused! All I want to do is transfer my pictures/music and documents so I don't clog up my Mac, seems like I can only use my WD hard drive with Time Machine.
Thank you! :)

Time Machine checks files on the laptop and syncs them to the external hard drive, you can simply move the files to the external hard drive however they won't be backed up by Time Machine.
