Hello,


how are you? i just deploy server 2008 when i try to open a shared driver from XP client it prompt password i saved password but everytime when i restart system it prompt password to access shared drive, i want it dont prompt every time please help

If the XP PC isnt on the domain and is on a workgroup then this is to happen by design.

you could also try go to my computer > Tools > network drives and inputting the credentials into where it states and click "remember me"

Also, it is possibly worth giving the user account (assuming the system is logging onto the domain on your network) rights to access the share.

You can change the permissions of a share by opening Share and Storage Management within Server 2008, selecting the share you require access to, selecting properties under the Actions pane (On the right hand side), Permissions tab and then Share Permissions.
