Pc stucks at detecting ide drives

Hello,

my computer alwayz stucks at detecting ide drives ......

it normally used to remove my hd connection and put it back and some times used to strt

but now i cannot start even by that method..

plzz help me !!

Just to clarify: Are you saying when you start your PC up after the BIOS splash screen your system has a delay detecting IDE devices?

If this is the case it may be worth trying to boot your system with just the hard disk attached (Remove connection for CD / DVD Drive etc).

i tried this but it wont pass ' detecting ide drives... ' in the start itself !!

Have you tried replacing the IDE cable for your hard disk drive?

by repalcing you mean purchasing a new ide cable?

It's a cheap suggestion. Have you tried starting your PC up with just your keyboard, mouse, VGA, and power attached?

i even started it using only the powwer supply and vga
