Hello,
I have my laptop (advent 4490) hooked up to my Samsung Lcd tv. The picture is fine but i cannot get the sound on the TV. I am using a HD15ST cable. Do i have the wrong cable or do i need to change the settings on my computer?

You are using a VGA cable (D-Sub 15 plugs) that does NOT carry a audio signal. The procedure for this type of laptop is to run a audio cable from the ear-phone/external speaker port to a free audio input port on the TV. The exact cable depends on the type of connections on the TV. It might be a double-ended mini-DIN connector or one with mini-DIN on one end and twin RCA connectors on the other.
Good Luck
