Power-up failure

Hello,
I have the hp pavilion dv7-1247cl entertainment notebook pc. Just recently, I have jot been able to fully power up my laptop. All the power lights come on, but it seems as if the system freezes in the middle of turning on. Then, my capslock light and numberlock light simultaneously flash four times go off for a second and continue to flash four times. I read on this forum to remove the battery and power source and hold the power button for 30-60 seconds, then try to power on again. I did this several times with no success. Can someone please help me? I have no experience with this.
