Wont read music on my mp3

Hello,

my mp3 player says theres no files on the drive but when i go into its Setting Info it says " 470 free space, 472 Total",I dont know what that means, can someone help, please? i just want to listen to music? :(

Format the device and transfer new music,give your feedback.
