NVidia 280M SLi Update Fail

Hello,

Hi. I have an Alienware M17x R2 (2009 model). I got it with 2 nVidia GeForce GTX 280M graphics cards in Hybrid SLi. I also got a single nVidia GeForce 9400m G as a low power mode.

I would like to run a regular update to my 280m's, so i went to nVidia.com and got the correct driver download, but when i run it, it says it's not supported. I tried the auto scan and it leads me elsewhere. What can i do?

I'm on windows vista 64 bit.

Hi again.

With my research, i found that the latest driver is for Battlefield 3 added support. My copy stops responding every time i execute it, so does Rage which is on steam.

It says why it doesn't work, the way round was too complicated, so i tried an older version of the card which would be fine for me, and half way through installation, it said something like an exception error and press OK to terminate. I pressed it about 50 times, the same message popped up with different and the same exe's. Any ideas?
