Problem:

So it all started when I reformated a while ago. I would turn on my computer and it would flicker on and off in 2 second intervals until I force shutdown. The only way to fix it is to reset bios by taking the battery out. Once I do that it will turn on no problem. If I try to turn the computer on right after I shutdown it usually has no problem, but the problem arrises when I've shut it down all night and come back to turn it on the next day.

Note:

I'm kind of a hardware noob and my buddy built the pc for me.

You probably need a BIOS update.

I suggest you contact Asrock support at 909-590-8308 to see if they think a BIOS update is what you need.

BIOS updates can be tricky and should only be done with the help of a person who has done it two or three times. A failed BIOS update often can only be fixed by replacing the physical BIOS chip with a new correctly programmed chip.

Good Luck

Thanks for the quick reply!

I've already updated the BIOS with the help of a friend. It actually fixed the problem for a couple weeks, but just recently it has started happening again. I'm totally bewildered.
