Put music onto my ipod

Hello,
Hi. I want to put music on to my computer to pass on to my ipod but i have 2 problems all the songs i put on dissapear on my files i checked downloads and my music but its not there and i dont know how to change my music on to a file it wont disspear

and my second question
i dont know how to put music onto my ipod

can please someone help me before this Thursday would be nice

You use iTunes to transfer music to the ipod. I suggest you download and install iTunes first and the read the FAQ at the iTunes site.
