WLAN card not working Closed

Question

Hello, 

I am un able to use internet explorer much less download all the latest drivers the closest I get is for my google home page to come up and then I type in a topic all good there but when I try and click on to one of the results I get"cannot display webpage" now my brother thinks I should just get a network adaptor , you know like of the USB ones to see if that will help but do you guys think I should be dropping my computer off at say the tech guy places for a tune up?

Configuration: Windows XP / Internet Explorer 8.0
