Hello, I have a Dell Inspiron 531 that shut down after updating. When I pushed the start button, the light lit and the hard drive spun momentarilly, about 5 seconds, and the power indicator light went off, after about 5 seconds the light relit for another 3 to 5 seconds and went off and stayed off. I have a green light on the rear that stays lit. If I push the power button again, light comes on 3 - 5 sec., goes off 3 - 5 sec., comes back on a couple sec. and goes off and stays off??? Could this be a bad power supply or what? Any help would be appreciated.

Hello,

Try this 1

If you computer is getting switched off everytime after few seconds then first

check your power supply. When you switch ON your PC check at the back of the

cabinet if the SMPS (PSU) Fan is spinning or not. Sometimes if required output

voltage is not being supplied by your SMPS (PSU) to the motherboard even then

you will face such problems.

Good Luck
