Setting up a network

Hello, These are pretty basic questions but I can't find simple answers so can someone help please?
I want to set up a network between my PackardBell iMedia desktop (Vista with no wifi) and my Fujitsu Lifebook (XP with wifi adaptor). Can I use my existing BT Home Hub broadband router and, if so, how? If not then can I install a Tecom AH4021 router and use that - again how?

Does my message not sound polite? The first line says "can someone help please" - what do you want me to do - grovel?
