Yeah the game will work on your computer. But with not very high graphics.
And pleez do remember that the new GTA is full of errors and bugs and who knows what else.
So good luck, because I gave up. Rockstar - get your game together.

to play gta 4 on higher resolutions upgrade your computer with intel core 2 quad 2.40 ghz , 4 gb of ram , nvidia 8600 gt 512 mb , windows xp sp3 or vista at sp1.

Yeah. gta needs a rather good cpu. So a core 2 quad will do fine. anyway, the game is not even that fun..for me.
