Hi frantait,
You might need the driver for your SD card reader. You can find the most updated driver for SD card reader from the Manufacturer's website or from the driver's disc that came with the computer.
In addition to this you must check if the SD card is read/write protected (there is a notch on some of the SD cards which can make them read/write protected, check user's manual of the SD card for more details).
If the SD card was password protected using another device such as a camera or a phone, this will also not allow the card to be detected/opened by the computer. Remove the password using the same device to use it with the computer.
