Hi harriscomp,

Please try to install the Drivers for the Network Card and check if the yellow bang is removed and the Network Card starts to work. You can find the Drivers on the "Resource Disc"/"Drivers and Utility disc" of your PC.

Please revert for clarification.

Hi harriscomp,

Please provide me the Device Instance ID of the Network Card so that I can find the drivers for your computer. To get the Device Instance ID:

1. Right click the Computer icon on the Desktop.
2. Select Manage.
3. Select Device Manager under Computer Management from the left pane.
4. Then expand "Network adapter" from right pane.
5. Right click the Device listed.
6. Click Properties.
7. Go to the Details tab, and then select Device Instance Id from the drop down list.
8. Make a note of this Device Instance ID.

Also include the Exact System Model Number of your HP Laptop in your reply.

Please do write back to us.

Hi harriscomp,

Thank you for providing the System Details. I see that only LAN (Network) Drivers for this machine under Windows XP Operating System is "Spring 2006 Original NVIDIA LAN Drivers". Please download it from here:

http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=pv-39111-1&cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en&os=228&product=1841799&sw_lang=

Kindly get back if there are any further queries.

Ok the driver has been downloaded and I restarted the computer but I still dont have internet. All of the wires and cables are connected to the correct places. under LAN the local area connection says"network cable unplugged". I know everthing else is connectiing wirelessly but why cant the desktop pc connect with the wires. None of the connections have changed. I just factory reset my computer.

Hi harriscomp,

You have mentioned that you downloaded the drivers and restarted the computer. I would like to know a little more about the installation status. After downloading when you opened "sp26680.exe", do you get any error messages? Does the installation complete to 100%?

Please do write back to us.
