Yes, most of the graphics problem can be fixed by updating the video drivers. In your you have upgraded the Operating System to Windows 7, so it is highly recommended you update the Video Drivers. You can find Video Drivers for your "HP Pavilion dv6000 CTO Notebook PC" from the below mentioned link:

Click "Drivers and Software" and enter the exact System Model Number to download correct drivers.
