Hi cosugest,
Please try to uninstall and then reinstall the drivers for the Audio Card in the machine. Also, check the sound settings in the default application for the sound card. Some of the sound card applications may have a feature to enable both the output channels viz. audio ports and internal speakers, disabling this option might fix the problem.
