Its very easy. In windows 7:
1. Click start
2. Type "add or remove programs" (without quotes)
3. Hit enter
4. A list of installed programs will open.
5. Find avast antivirus
6. Right click on it and select "uninstall"

In win xp:
1. Open control panel
2. Click add or remove programs
3. A list will open
4. Right click on avast antivirus
5. Select uninstall
DONE :D
