Uploading music onto and iphone without itunes

so pretty much i have an iphone 3GS, and it wont let me update it anymore because the software isnt compatible with my phone anymore. as a result my iphone will no longer connect to itunes what so ever. ive tried everything i can think of and ive had several peopl tell me that it is impossible to do without itunes. i asked someone that used to work with iphones/ipods for a living and they even told me that its impossible. can someone please help me figure out a way around itunes to upload music to my iphone? thank you

you can try this software:

But, I have an 3GS and iTunes work just fine with it.
