Hi shajideepa,
This problem might happen because of software or hardware issues. Software problems include Windows Operating System related problems, Optical Drive firmware related issues, BIOS related issues, etc. whereas hardware problems include Optical Drive Failure, Lens problem, Optical Drive Interposer (connector) related issues, etc.
Please try the below mentioned steps and check if this fixes the problem:
1. Check with different known good CD/DVD to see if same issue occurs. If no, the issue is with the CD/DVD media not the Optical Drive or software.
2. If you are using Windows 7, run "Optical Drive Troubleshooter" from the below mentioned link:
https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/2970908/how-to-use-microsoft-easy-fix-solutions
3. Download and Install the latest "Optical Drive Firmware" from the manufacturer's website.
4. Uninstall and then re-install the DVD/BD-playback Software if any.
5. Update / re-install the computer's audio / video driver.
Do reply with results.
Thanks & Regards
