Hello,

DJ AKSHAY,
I have recently repaired my sisters 2 dell desktop computers. I shipped them through FedEx to Utah. When she plugged in her mouse, keyboard, and power supply...the computer just goes on. No boot screen, no HDD activity, only the power supply fan is running with the processor fan also.

I had her replace the RAM with another...still the same.

Replaced the HDD with another....still the same.

Even had her take out the CMOS battery for a about 30 seconds..still the same.

Removed the mouse and keyboard...still the same.

............I just asked her to remove the CMOS battery and leave it out for about and hour. So I am going to wait for about an hour and also await a response from you.

Any help would be appreciated.

You shipped it over there to a repair center or to the user?

Tell her to remove the memory cards and then power up the system without them, she should hear continuous beep sounds. If yes the motherboard is good.

If not, then tell her to remove the CPU fan, of course if she can do it, otherwise leave it. This is to test if your processor is good. If she cannot then tell her to leave the PC on for 2-3 minutes and feel the heatsink of the CPU FAN, she should feel some heat, this means that the processor is good also.

Tell her to RESET the BIOS via the JUMPER SETTINGS.

Follow the link below to see the thread where there are all explanations about how to perform the tests and reset procedures:
