New to the forum, hope someone can help! Let me know if I need to clarify my question and thanks in advance.
When using formulas to link one workbook to another, is it possible to embed the information from the original workbook so that the correct sum appears in the newly created workbook without the original workbook being open?
Currently, the cells with linked data show the message #VALUE until the original workbook is al open.
Thanks!

Not sure what function you are using to calculate the sum...
Sum and Sumproduct will work on closed workbooks
But Sumif(s) or Countif(s) and Indirect won't work with closed workbooks
