What code on the router do i use to hook up?

i have an ipod and an wireless router, and i need a code to hook up to the wireless on my ipod becuase it is locked. But I have entered all the numbers i could find and none of them worked! So do i use the MAC addrees, the device id number. the ownership id number, or what? I am so confused! please help me out! thanks :)
