I get this msg. when I try to boot my Computer. "CMOS checksum error Defaults loaded. Press F1 to continue F2 for setup." Neither F1 or F2 changes anything on my computer. I thought my Power Supply was bad so I changed it. That is when my CMOS problem began.
I'm afraid I might have caused the problem. Is the CMOS associated with the BIOS on my computer? Is it a replaceable chip on my computer? I don't have a schematic of my computer. My computer is a Dell Inspiron 530. I appreciate all the help I can get.

Hello,

have you tried changing the CMOS battery?

If you take off the side panel of your PC you'll see what looks like a silver coin which is plugged in to the motherboard. This is a 3V battery.

Replace that and see how you get on.
